Cairn Candle
A set of wax pebbles that can be stacked around a solid wick, forming a unique candle resembling cairns found on mountain ridges.
Project
Cairn Candle is a set of wax pebbles of three different sizes and colors, which can be stacked, by hand, around a solid wick. Once assembled, it forms a wax structure resembling the cairns we find on mountain ridges and beaches.

Product
Cairn Candle is a set of differently sized wax pebbles stacked by hand around a solid wick. Each arrangement creates a unique candle inspired by cairns found on mountain ridges and beaches.
02
Design development
The project began as an exploration of imprecise timekeeping through candles. Experiments with stackable discs evolved into rounded triangular forms that resembled smooth stones.
03
Manufacturing
The candles were designed for small-scale artisanal production using soy wax, natural dyes and scents, without paraffin or phthalates.
04
Campaign
Developed by a four-person student team at the De Vinci Innovation Center, the project was prepared and presented as a Kickstarter campaign covering product design, prototyping, communication and production planning.
